A long lost Tudor Palace, very few traces of it remain. On the foreshore a few timbers of the old Tudor/Stuart jetty, also a gatehouse off Richmond Green. Thought to be Elizabeth I’s favourite palace & where she died on March 24 1603. We have only Wyngaerde’s sketches to show us what it looked like

Great sequence here on the invasion of the Ohio Country &hints at a pan-Native confederacy. Can't remember if mentioned in a previous episode, but Lord Dunmore's War against Ohio Natives had basically just ended when the Rev War breaks out. Rev War is next chapter in the long war for the west #HATM

20 NOVEMBER 1775, LONDON: Richard, Lord Howe, tells the House of Commons that he will accept command of the Royal Navy in America only if ordered to do so: “If commanded his duty was to serve,” but otherwise he’s caught between “his duty as an officer, and his duty as a man.”

It's funny bc I remember people younger than me, like ten years ago, asking me how to "break in to the industry" when I had two published books and no money. Since I joined social media the majority of the talk about "the industry" feels like a sad larp about an industry people wish existed,
Older creators bellyaching about feeling left outside of the comics industry have a myopic misunderstanding of what changes have taken place over the past few decades. The industry didn’t push you out, any sort of real coherent structural functional industry at all, sadly ceased to exist

57 Flock cameras purchased by SAPD (approved by city council) indiscriminately track law-abiding residents with a mere .02% resulting in a criminal investigation. that data includes where people shop, go to work, drop their kids off or who they hang out with is then sent to a national database.

'The Line of the Plough.' (1919) John Arnesby Brown's painting was the first picture he made in the spring following the end of WW1. It suggests the start of the cycle of life and new beginnings after the shattered landscapes he witnessed in France and Belgium during the war.
