A long lost Tudor Palace, very few traces of it remain. On the foreshore a few timbers of the old Tudor/Stuart jetty, also a gatehouse off Richmond Green. Thought to be Elizabeth I’s favourite palace & where she died on March 24 1603. We have only Wyngaerde’s sketches to show us what it looked like

Depends on the painting imo - I would spend a lot more time looking at a Bosch painting than I would reading a Foxtrot or whatever.

This painting is a little misleading - the bearded buckskin look wasn’t popular in his day. It was the common practice to be clean shaven, even when exploring the furthest reaches. He probably looked more like this.
