Just in case anyone out there feels like they shouldn’t post art - please do. The constant bullshit from the news is difficult but we can’t allow all of that to stop us from making art and sharing it. That’s all I have to say rn - am planning to enjoy the rest of my weekend working on sketches.

Black history always taught me to keep going and keep finding joy. When I see the old videos of black people dancing, creating and making beautiful things it was always during the WORST times in history (20s,60s, etc) . While "they" try to destroy us and the world, we will keep going.

Thirteen years ago my partner Jamie Baker had a devastating stroke. It took him five years to relearn to draw again & walk. We are ever so grateful to Pete Docter for hiring him back on the story team at Pixar. I am astounded by his recovery, and so glad he can continue to express his creativity.
