So I taped a black mist filter to a cheap plastic lens, and the results are so incredibly, beautifully shitty. I love it.

I set up Home Assistant to turn on some lights, but it's quickly escalated to… this. @alexstoneart.bsky.social made a Pokemon inspired pixel art floorplan of the entire apartment. I'm currently making it interactive (chores & active devices are shown on the map). Thinking of animating it too. Omg 😅

Caran d’Ache Luminance and Derwent Lightfast are the best in terms of lightfastness. Outside of these, you really have to scrutinize the individual colours, some are ok but oranges and pinks seem particularly prone to fading.

While horrifying, the in-depth analysis and charts here are at least extremely satisfying to look at. Especially at 2am when I should be asleep but have fallen down an art material rabbit hole.
