Hey hey, #PortfolioDay!

I'm Ashley, a NY-based illustrator who works on book covers, tarot cards, and TTRPGs!

I'm on a mission to do more traditional work, and here is one I made last summer. I'm dying to do more, so keep an eye out!!!

An interpretation of the Arthurian legend of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, in which the knight is seduced by both Lord and Lady Bertilak. Here we see the knight in between the couple, head tilted back, eyes closed, as Lord Bertilak wraps a large hand around his neck and presses in close from behind. Lady Bertilak is pulling off his green belt with one hand, and reaching below to undo the lacing on his pants with another. The knight’s visible hand squeezes Lady Bertilak’s thigh tightly. A young woman with reddish blond hair in a Victorian updo sits in an intricately carved stone throne. She looks with a mocking smirk at the viewer, and an elegant silver crown dangles from one hand. Monstrous hands with long black nails reach from behind the throne, and are scoring deep gouges into the stone. A graphite drawing of a woman with a huge flower crown and long, flowing hair with her head tilted up and back. She is in front of a huge stylized sun, done in gold leaf. The words "Daughter of the Sun" surround the sun. It was inspired by the Green Lung song "May Queen".

I've been so tickled after making the ceramic sphinx in my last post that I couldn't help but draw them for some fun this weekend :)
The same ceramic sphinx in the last post now digitally illustrated. In the top panel it sits with a giant grin, speaking. The text reads "A man in a car saw a golden door, a silver door, and a bronze door. Which door did he open first? The car door!" Bottom left it goes flying through the air, mouth open in a snarl. The text reads "Riddle failed! (Mind you they are the size of a kitten, don't worry about it). Bottom right shows them curled up on their back, blissfully relaxed, eyes closed for a nap. The text reads "Two minutes later".
