Yeah, I mean I’m sorry guys but this chicken little stuff is just weird, you won’t be handling your details over, it’s fine.
1. BlueSky do not get a copy of your personal data or ID. This is age verification not ID verification.

2. Age verification is done by a third party who just give BlueSky a Y/N answer

3. A zero cost transaction on your bank card is the simplest way to verify your age.

Hoo boy: always a wild ride to read a story where the people setting themselves up as main characters haven’t realised they’re the villains.
I’m surprised I was able to read to the end of this, given how far back in my head it made my eyes roll. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

I don't think there's a problem with Bluesky. However, quitting Twitter has generally broken my social media habit too. So I just don't have the urge to come here much. I suspect true for others too.
The problems with Bluesky are true with every other platform. It's not that it's a bubble, though. It's that people feel a desire to protect a place they like.

I don't agree with Cuban here but I think we need to come up with ways to not let this become its story.

Bluesky is backfiring. Mark Cuban says the 'lack of diversity of thought' is actually pushing users back to X
The billionaire argues Bluesky’s liberal-heavy user base creates an echo chamber.

That would give you a good mix of eras and vibes. Though was pretty hard not to just say a mix of S25 and 26.

I miss what Twitter was. Too much of my adult life - work, friends, partners - has been bound up in it not to. But that Twitter doesn't exist any more. *Twitter* doesn't exist any more, and X is a hellhole and even if I could put up with that it'd suck because most people I want to talk to are here.
The central delusion of pundits who desperately try to guilt people into coming back to Twitter: they genuinely seem to think we all secretly MISS Twitter and are merely hanging out over here out of a drab, self-flagellating sense of moral superiority

no, we're here because Twitter sucks shit now

I kind of love the AI advert where the guy ruins his "Gochujang Pasta Sauce" so AI helps him make it into "Gochujang Cookies" because I can think of no scenario where you'd be happy to replace pasta with savoury cookies, but also, the original sauce he's making also sounds like an AI invention?
