My childhood friend Chris Zolinski died after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer on Friday. His family—a wife and two daughters—could greatly use financial support in this difficult time.

Please consider supporting their GoFundMe.

remember to watch some version of Santa Claus Conquers the Martians to celebrate the holiday.

It's public domain so you can just watch it on wikipedia if you want, but I recommend the MST3K version or one of the other riffed versions:

All I want for Christmas is for you to help my late friend’s family make it through a difficult holiday.

Chris died two weeks before Christmas. He found out his cancer was terminal just three months before.

His family is lovely—and they miss him deeply.

I know I'm like 60 years late for making this call, but Rankin-Bass must be stopped.

Not every musician can be into CB radios and synth-driven Christmas music. But the guy behind Mannheim Steamroller pulled it off.

Merry Christmas! If you'd like to spend 45 minutes celebrating video game history with me, we're about to debut The Untold Story of the Nintendo Entertainment System. I worked on his ALL YEAR, and I genuinely think it will reshape how we all think about the system. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJvp...

Steven Drozd (to fan): I left the band, we’re not talking about it
New drummer: Our shows are so much better without him
Wayne Coyne (to Steven): Do you realize that you have the most punchable face

Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."
