Misunderstandably
Feel I should watch something to commemorate 100 years of telly, so I shall.

100 years since the birth of television. 200 years since the opening shot from The Leisure Hive began.

It's also a lot bloody closer than I realised.

Watching a documentary about the Ealing Comedies. Only ever seen 'A Fish Called Wanda' (1988) era Charles Crichton and couldn't help thinking "Oh, look how young he is!"

I don’t know what you’re all going on about. Television began with the first Quatermass serial. Before that it was just radio vid-blogging.

The thing about TV being hundred means that it was exactly at its halfway point in January 1976, and yes, part four of The Brain of Morbius, that is probably the peak moment of all television.

Don’t want to start a panic, but I’m beginning to suspect that some people online are not arguing entirely in good faith.

"Not so very long ago, in the top left-hand corner of Wales, there was a railway..." Ivor the Engine puffed back onto TV in a new series of colour episodes starting #OTD 50 years ago. @radiotimes.bsky.social photographed co-creators Oliver Postgate and Peter Firmin (Ivor background artwork on wall).

Lousy pun and factually inaccurate. Still a great story, though.

JL2 Lucie Miller / To The Death. Sorry, I hated this. Dalek Invasion Of Earth - The Boring Version, lots of action masking a snail's pace plot, maudlin speeches, repetitive exposition, contrived histrionics, cheap shock deaths, leaden dialogue. Miserable, cynical and dull. Good acting, tho.

Not Paul Simon's best, to be honest.

Might stand for parliament, as a joke, win, take the leadership, dissolve the UK, sell everything, buy a nice flat in Worthing and retire. As a joke.

Rebrand as BBC Views, then you can drop the act. “Here’s what people are saying. The facts? Sorry, you’ll need a news service for that, we just do gossip.”

Decided to get in the mood for the Wonder Man TV series and @joshuawilliamson.bsky.social's new Iron Man comic with a rewatch of one of my favourite MCU movies.
