You know what's fucked up? in 2011 I wrote a satirical article called "Widgets for America", in which I suggested we manufacture a piece of junk for americans to buy for no other reason than to stimulate the economy. But every day someone pitches it for real. Nobody read it so it only haunts me
It's not just "consumer smart" it reduces environmental waste, key materials are often mined in slave conditions. The whole tenor of the article is wrong - why is the economy so dependent on us engaging in mass waste?
