ICYMI: Now is a good time to say that Jordan Davis swatting a FG is on the cover of this month’s SI, and you should buy magazines because they are cool and you can read good articles and look at nice pictures without having to be on your phone.
@conororr.bsky.social wrote a very good magazine cover story about why special teams has gone crazy this year and we put Jordan Davis’s blocked FG on a cool looking cover.

Leonard Leo is a lawyer, but he's never argued a case in court. He's never held elected office.

But for years he rebuilt the American legal system, resulting in the Supreme Court's right-wing supermajority.

According to NextGenStats, Myles Garrett has an average get-off of 0.60 seconds today.

To put that in context, the fastest average by any player this season is 0.73 (It's Myles Garrett lol)

Q: You had dinner with Nick Fuentes at Mar-a-Lago a few years ago. What role should he play in the conservative movement?

TRUMP: I didn't know he was coming and he was with as you know somebody -- Kayne. Kayne asked if he could have dinner and he brought Nick. I didn't know Nick at the time.

If you are not in academia, you might not know this, but job interviews used to be held at conferences IN HOTEL ROOMS. Women candidates in a hotel room alone with often all-male committees. People sitting on beds! The horror stories I've heard.
I thing I sometimes thing about is that university departments were still doing job interviews in hotel rooms in the mid aughts

I can reassure the New York Times that networks of mutual protection, and misogynist retaliation efforts that benefit abusive men at the expense of the young women they prey upon, are very much still intact post-Me Too.
This is nauseating: “As the emails stretch through the years, they show how that protected realm vanished into the mists of time, pulled under by the rising forces of the internet and the #MeToo movement.” A “Gone With the Wind” framing for sexual abuse and harassment.
Seriously, what is wrong with these people?

“When the 8 African American sheriffs took over the largest counties in North Carolina, it became a threat to the good ol’ boy system,” says the sheriff of Charlotte. These new sheriffs broke ties with ICE.

But GOP lawmakers cracked down this week, overbidding the governor’s veto to adopt this law:

Boosted by new supermajorities, Republicans are closing in on legislation to mandate more collaboration with ICE and preempt local policies hard-won by immigrants’ rights advocates.

I'm seeing people wonder why ICE is going after Charlotte.

ICE has been at war with Charlotte's sheriff ever since he won in 2018.

We'd covered this at Bolts back in the day; this quote is from that sheriff:
