A panel of federal appeals court judges ruled that the Cop City petition will not move forward.

The majority opinion overturned a lower court ruling in favor of the plaintiffs.

The written opinion states that petitions cannot be used to challenge a city ordinance in the State of Georgia.

Yaa'kub Vijandre, 38, is detained in Georgia’s Folkston detention center and accused of “glorifying terrorism”—due to a handful of social media posts, several of which refer to his Muslim faith.
