FT: #usmnt 5-1 Uruguay. An utterly dominating performance. First international goals from Berhalter, Tessmann & Freeman, with the Orland City man adding a second for good measure. Thought U.S. managed the game better in the 2nd half. Heck of a way to end the international calendar. Bring on 2026.

This US starting squad that's up 4-0 in 40 minutes against Uruguay is made up of:

5 Current MLS players,

4 Former MLS players,

1 MLS Academy product that went to NASL before Europe,

1 guy who wears Chicago Bulls jerseys to team meetings

are renewables better for the environment than fossil fuels? yes. is it cheaper? also yes. is it less dangerous to extract? yes, significantly.

but you've gotta understand if we switched, the people who are currently wealthy would not be as wealthy

one of the most insane thing about partisan politics is that Republicans are allowed to say "these four million American citizens shouldn't get the representation they are entitled because it would be politically inconvenient for us" and nobody bats an eye
Johnson: "If they had no filibuster, they would pack the SCOTUS. You'd go from 9 to 17 or however many liberals they could pack. You would make DC & Puerto Rico into states, which would give 4 additional Democrat senators & make us a permanent minority. You'd see massive restrictions of 2A rights"

What if all of our elected officials liked where they live and saw the humanity in their constituents as much as Zohran Mamdani?
For New Yorkers who work the night shift, it can be nearly impossible to participate in political life of our city.

So tonight we’re bringing this campaign to them — starting with taxi drivers waiting at LaGuardia.

It's kinda cool that Gary Larson is doing new cartoons because he picked up a digital tablet, taught himself how to use it, and it made him love drawing again.

To give some apples-to-apples comparisons:

- 2.6 points per game, the most ever
- 83% win percentage, the biggest ever
- Lorena has a 64% shutout percentage, the biggest ever

These aren't records being padded by the extra games. They are staggeringly real.

There’s an essay to be written about how maga patriotism is just shitty fandom. Anyone who follows sports knows fans like this, it’s always the ref’s fault, the other team doesn’t exist, there’s some plot/player/coach holding the team back otherwise they’d always win easy bsky.app/profile/atru...

See the funniest bit about the Pochettino thing is that all those USMNT "content creators" just legitimately assumed that somebody they considered to be a true expert and visionary at soccer would simply agree with them about everything.
