If you spend any time at all in St. Louis, it becomes so apparent so quickly why soccer exploded here in the early 20th century and why it’s still a fundamental part of the city’s identity. It’s something you can say for so few places in this country. Respect.

Goes without saying: an absolute, abject failure on the USMNT’s part if they don’t advance out of this group. Realistically, things could not have gone much better for them.

I've gotten better at this over the years: when friends or strangers offer me love, a compliment or whatever else, I actively choose to believe them instead of instinctively hating myself or minimizing it. If we all learned to see ourselves the way our friends see us, we'd be much happier.

I truly cannot think of another case in MLS history where a higher-paid, more productive & effective player was so badly squandered by the team that signed him. Really, a total shame.
