I regret to inform you that I am once again lost in the standings for the Utah High School Rodeo league. My God.

Anyways I’m here on MLS SuperDraft day, the holiest day of the year, to remind you of the greatest social media handle in the history of SuperDraft picks. MLS peaked at this very moment.

RFK Stadium coming undone like a glacier. Entire upper bowl gone, lower one nearly done too. A surreal sight.

A few years back I talked to the only two living members of the Craig League - they have since passed away - and went deep into the history of the first-ever women’s soccer league in the USA (or was it?) - @meglinehan.com with the assist on this one. www.nytimes.com/athletic/345...
Where did U.S. women’s soccer get its start? Inside the story of the Craig League
Long before Title IX, there was a women's soccer league in St. Louis that has had a far-reaching impact on the game

All across the USA there are forgotten spaces of American soccer. At dawn, I’m standing at one in St. Louis.

Here, at the corner of N Market & N Spring St, the young women of the Craig League played what’s often cited as the first organized women’s league match in 🇺🇸 history.

If you spend any time at all in St. Louis, it becomes so apparent so quickly why soccer exploded here in the early 20th century and why it’s still a fundamental part of the city’s identity. It’s something you can say for so few places in this country. Respect.

Ricky Davis poster here at the bar in St. Louis. You love to see it.

Quickly, St. louis people: what’s the diviest bar in your city. Like just an absolute shithole. I’ll head there momentarily.

Goes without saying: an absolute, abject failure on the USMNT’s part if they don’t advance out of this group. Realistically, things could not have gone much better for them.

I've gotten better at this over the years: when friends or strangers offer me love, a compliment or whatever else, I actively choose to believe them instead of instinctively hating myself or minimizing it. If we all learned to see ourselves the way our friends see us, we'd be much happier.

Posted by DC United forward Christian Benteke, on his personal Instagram.

I truly cannot think of another case in MLS history where a higher-paid, more productive & effective player was so badly squandered by the team that signed him. Really, a total shame.

Pretty impressive timing from MLS for both of these stories to drop in the same week

Philadelphia Union head coach Bradley Carnell offered a statement at the start of his press conference today in regards to the situation surrounding Ernst Tanner. Here are his remarks.

Fun fact: I was born here. In Philly, not at Bob and Barbara’s. Tho I may die there some day.

Hi, Philly. 📍

(screams) CUT THE MUULLLLEEEETTTT. Fun fact, I saw him perform live in 1998 and he grabbed me and head butted me a little too hard for comfort.

Pele x NY Cosmos x Antiques Roadshow? Yes, please.

Very cool piece of memorabilia from his last-ever game - I do think the appraisal is a touch high, though.

Still amazing.

NEW: Ernst Tanner has built a powerhouse at the Philadelphia Union.

But my @us.theguardian.com investigation has shown wide-ranging allegations of misbehavior throughout his 7-year tenure.

Tanner denies the allegations, and was investigated by MLS this year.
