How is it possible that Kristi Noem still has this job. Imagine if you’re a family member or a shipmate of this guardsman.

Not a lot to be proud of as an American these days, but I admit to feeling a swell of pride when I see an extremely normal person setting fire to a planned concentration camp
that’s a wine mom imo. we count those
KMBC: "A woman tried to set a fire at a South Kansas City warehouse that had been rumored as a possible ICE detention center. Earlier today, the company that owns the property confirmed it is no longer moving forward with a sale to the U.S. government."

Welcome back to #FossilFriday everyone!

Here we have a beautiful chain coral known as Halysites cantenularia. This comes from the Lower Silurian Cordell Formation (Monistique Group) Door County, Wisconsin.

Perhaps dangerously, I've discovered there's an audience for grapolites on here. Thus: graptolite structural models made by E. S. Parkington and by (or inspired by) W. J. Sollas. The perfect dinner party centrepiece. In the @lapworthmuseum.bsky.social collections #FossilFriday

Ill be clear about why I am so angry and critical about it: Im seeing a good portion of my students who have imbibed the notion that they dont have to read, think or write for themselves because ChatGPT/CoPilot will do their thinking for them, and its terrifying. It should scare all of us.

A lot of people really don’t realize that there is a vast amount of information out there that is not online and plausibly never will be, or can’t be.
I think that's a point that will surprise a lot of people. There's a lot of calling the internet capable of accessing "the sum of all human knowledge" and such that I think gives people the impression that any and all records exist online somewhere.

As I say here, there is no scientific justification to revoke the engagement finding. In fact, over the last 15+ yrs, the evidence of how climate change affects our health has only grown. Higher risk of allergies, dementia, fertility, heart disease, and death: that’s what’s on the line. @nature.org
There is No Scientific Justification to Revoke the Endangerment Finding
The U.S. EPA's decision to repeal the Endangerment Finding will limit the government's ability to regulate emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.

dear peace monks, you don’t know me but DO NOT GET ON THAT BUS
Incredibly honored to welcome the Buddhist monks completing their Walk for Peace in Washington, D.C. this morning.

Their courage and compassion are a powerful reminder of what leadership should look like. May their journey challenge Congress to choose peace, dignity, and unity.

Invoking wealthy class solidarity to excuse sex crimes against children is sorta the Epstein Class in a nutshell
Bondi crashes out over Epstein: "The Dow is over 50,000 dollars! I don't know why you're laughing. You're a great stock trader as I hear, Raskin. The Dow is over 50,000 right now. The S&P at almost 7,000, and the Nasdaq smashing records. That's what we should be talking about."

McIver: "How do you think Judgement Day will work for you with so much blood on your hands?"
