we have a president with a tenuous grip on small legislative majorities who is out of the gate with a flurry of dramatically unpopular orders and who has just demonstrated his weakness on the international stage. if i were an elected member of his domestic opposition, i might try to draw real blood.

No wonder why I'm considering running for public advocate. On NY1, Assembly Member Jenifer Rajukmar said: "So many New Yorkers have almost been hit by a dangerous e-bike.” Yet no one followed up: “ALMOST been hit? Last year, 4,168 cyclists and 8,787 pedestrians WERE hit and injured by car drivers."

“Plot armor” is one of the dumbest critical buzz phrases. “Why doesn’t the central character of the movie die 50% of the way into it? Plot armor!”

It’s like asking why SAVING PRIVATE RYAN wasn’t about one of the guys killed on the beach. If they’re dead, there’s no story to follow

The fascists should find it hard TO DO EVERYTHING. They should not be able to find people to work for them. People should act like they are invisible. You did not hear them. You did not get that email. Oooh, did you ask for a pencil? I thought you said stencil.

I've built a machine that can be Confidently Wrong. It can also make pictures that all look a bit the same, as well as make a video of you kissing any celebrity or person you know. In payment, I'd like to boil the world's oceans dry, & steal all literature. For some reason, my head is not on a spike

If you go FiCore you don’t get to have an opinion on the WGA. Them’s the breaks, kid.

Call me crazy, but if you truly don’t know how to correctly wave to a crowd so as to not sow confusion about your nazi allegiances, maybe you shouldn’t be in charge of… well, anything?

Pathetic. Hike the toll.
Today I sent a letter to President Trump urging his Administration to reexamine New York’s congestion pricing scheme.

Congestion pricing is a disaster for New Jersey commuters and must receive the close look it deserves from the federal government.

We should challenge a lot more directly this very common idea in American politics that cities exist only to provide comfort, luxury, and labor to the suburbs.

Isn’t it weird how no one left of center ever accidentally does Nazi salutes? What a strange thing.

In light of the coming week, a few words from ANDOR:

“The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle.”

I just have to say: it remains *insane* that, in the year of our lord 2025, you can't just go on the internet, customize the car you want, and order it delivered to your door. There is zero practical reason not to do this, but auto dealers have written the shitty dealership experience into law.

Gottheimer keeps using the "hardworking families" line but apparently does not apply that term to hardworking families who rely on the bus or the train. The only people who matter to him are the small number of people who drive into Manhattan.
Josh Gottheimer, get a freaking grip already. Enough.

Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) says Trump's tariffs may not go far enough — and he's not worried if the price of avocados soars. "“Avocados are nice, right? They have some omegas in them? But do we need to eat avocados? Do we need to eat them year-round?" www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
