The fear of someone's life being made moderately easier by accident has prevented us from making a lot of peoples lives livable on purpose.
Balancing "no person with a disability should be denied accommodations" with "it's important to discourage non-disabled people from pretending to be disabled to take advantage of these accommodations" is really difficult and I don't have a great answer for what anyone should do about it.

The weird thing about blocking is it is treated like this act of Online Violence when in a lot of situations as a big account haver, blocking is like the only rational response that doesn't invite harassment against the person you're dealing with
Said this before, but man people have much worse meltdowns on here than they did on twitter over being blocked. I wonder what contributes to the difference?

I've seen a lot of depressed takes today about modern students, who in these stories are completely disinterested and disconnected from their classes. I don't really want to disagree with takes which come from real experience. But I do want to note that this has not been my experience at all. 1/?

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

I'm so glad Apple are making their PC software support so simple and streamlined. Back when I just used iTunes to manage all my media I thought I had it good. Plug in a device, click and drag some songs to it, away you go. I didn't realise I really wanted 3 separate apps this whole time!
