Legislation creates a Federal Tax Escrow Account in the state treasury. Instead of employers forwarding collected federal taxes to Washington, they send them to the state. The state holds the money in escrow. A legislative panel reviews federal spending for constitutional compliance.

Trump's illegal murders in the Caribbean just got worse. An internal DOJ memo on the bombings says the victims are waging war on the US, but per NYT, it extensively cites the WH's *own claims* to this effect as evidence!

It gets even darker than that. 1/

so basically, its like, if you want to do biz in this state, follow our laws

guys, you have to switch to a payroll vendor that follow the rules, or use our free one. that seems like the mechanism

in case you needed another reason to not feed the trolls:

they start eating each other
strongly suspect this is correct. a big part of MAGA’s coherence & ideology is downstream of the impulse to “own” some nebulous enemy, when they lose easy access to that enemy it makes sense they’d turn on whoever they do have access to, which is each other
morbidly sociologically curious about whether there's a relationship between this and the clustering of right wingers on Truth Social + exodus of libs and the left from Twitter, etc

"State legislatures can pass tax escrow legislation within 90 days. We know how to implement this. We know it works. The impacts would deal a devastating blow to a regime that currently has at least another full year to consolidate power further."

Is @indivisible.org discussing this, anyone?
