I'll get back to "party unity" as soon as the Senate Minority Leader tells us if he voted for the Democratic party nominee for mayor of his city.

I'm tired of party unity only ever running one way.

Important to understand this. There's a reasonable chance that your Dem Senator who voted against it and is acting mad now was in on the play. It's the same reason why they scheduled the surrender for AFTER the election this week. They didn't want people pissed at Dems right before an election.
The caucus meeting was just to orchestrate who would fall on the sword but not be up for a vote in 2026.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Chuck Schumer is doing this because he is sabotaging the emergence of a Democratic Party that actually promises real results for working people, in order to protect his phony job and his billionaire friends

If it's real, then the fact that their impulse when winning is to give up for nothing explains so much about the democratic party

The pod save guys are materially culpable for Trump and they still get online and talk like this. It's unbelievable.
Seriously, why are you insulting people's intelligence like this. There is very obviously a massive excluded middle between "bland Ivy League corporate automaton" and "still has large Nazi tattoo." There's nothing wrong with having found him appealing. He was! But it's over and this is silly

BREAKING: The Democratic Party to be split into two organizations: "Communism Two" will handle actual legislation and as consolation "The Good Manners Gang" will serve as a makework program for friends and family of the wealthy until their assets can be seized by the state.

I want everyone to compare how coordinated, focused, and ruthless the inevitable Dem ratfucking of Mamdani with how ineffective they are vs. Republicans

Now the really important thing is knowing that all the people who would scold Zohran Mamdani voters if he lost and tell them to line up behind Cuomo for the greater good will soon be supporting and helping Zohran become mayor

Imagine if the Democratic Party actually helped Zohran instead of trying to kneecap him at every step. A better party is immediately possible if they stop shoving money into the anti-trans combination Racism Dial/Money Toilet and instead get behind candidates people actually want.

anyway it’s like, do you want to win elections or do you want to prevail in factional battles for intra-party influence (i know the answer to this, this is a rhetorical question)

sometimes i feel like the republican party is a big tornado that is coming to kill me. and the democratic party is the rickety shed that i'm hiding in. and i say "we should really fix this shed, because it's not doing much." and people say "what? why aren't you criticizing the tornado instead?!"

been getting yelled at for almost five months now about how "there's nothing Democrats can do, they're in the minority" and yet WHEN they can block bad Republican legislation what are they doing? passing it
Dammit. In other disheartening news, looks like the Senate voted for cloture on the awful Genius Act. Couldn’t have done it without Democratic help. Vote is still coming in. Unofficial tally 60 to 29 so far
