I honestly wonder how much of this is deeply psychological for Vance, the inability to reconcile that people can love their neighbors so much when his own mother abandoned him.
Vance in MN: "It's really cold outside. We in the Trump administration want to deport criminal aliens who are sex offenders. It takes a certain level of committed to sex offender criminal aliens to stand outside in -40 temperatures and attack the vice president, but they're committed to the bit."

Pre-Raphaelitism was a 19th century art movement that "denoted an antagonism to ... classical compositions and forms in favor of a RETURN TO BOTH NATURE AND COLOR that that these painters saw in art before Raphael." Sounds a lot like rejecting genre, CGI, AI and relentless gray scale color grading!

I got very choked up in class today showing my students what James Baldwin had to say about Shakespeare:

“the greatest poet in the English language found his poetry where poetry is found: in the lives of the people. he could have done this only through love…”

In Trump's telling, the US are the equivalent of the Nazis
Trump: "No nation is in any position to be able to secure Greenland other than the US. We're a great power. Much greater than people even understand. I think they found that out 2 weeks ago in Venezuela. We saw this in World War 2 when Denmark fell to Germany after just 6 hours of fighting."

This is why people in the world of the X-Men are fine with the Avengers and Fantastic Four but hate mutants
I do have to point out that even with a more-accepting society, there is a gulf between "I am okay with queers" and "I am okay with my kid being a queer". People can support LGBT rights in the abstract and then get spooked when their own precious cinnamon roll makes them a "non-traditional family".

Correct
This is the problem with a lot of vocational training: you are preparing yourself for what the job market wanted at the time you started not when you finish.

Study Philosophy to avoid this problem.

Abstinence makes it sound so uncool but it's the coolest thing out there -- A WAR AGAINS ROBOTS A BUTLERIAN JIHAD
AI sits in billions of phones. Refusing to engage won't stop it, just leaves vulnerable people without knowledge. Demand ownership and control, not abstinence.
Abstinence From AI Is Not the Answer
Opinion | Refusing to use AI won’t protect society. Responsible resistance must include gaining knowledge about it.

This is the most astonishing graph of what the Trump regime has done to US science. They have destroyed the federal science workforce across the board. The negative impacts on Americans will be felt for generations, and the US might never be the same again.
