One thing I love is that Strega Nona and Baba Yaga roughly translate to the same name but one of them will make you a big meal and the other one will make you the big meal.
Attn: folklorists, somewhat urgently--is there any definitive word on whether or not Baba Yaga uses the same mortar and pestle for flight and in the kitchen?

As a kid- impaled myself on a bamboo cane trying to propel myself higher on a swing.
Teen- jumped off a stage in platform boots, fractured ankle.
20s- broke a rib trying to clean an AGA-style oven with a bucket of soapy water.
Last month- stabbed myself trying to open a bottle of coffee syrup.
