Been writing about games for a long time. Can't stop. Won't stop. Likes friendly people. Doesn't like bullies. LOVES dogs.
You do not fuck with Gran-Gran.
they really put Sephiroth, 47 spiders-men, and Azula in Magic only for literally none of them to even be relevant. instead the format is being dominated by an old lady, a weasel, and the bass pro shop pyramid

I would have pre-cerified plans available. You want to build a home/office/ADU?

You can pick from a set of approved plans known to meet code. If you select from one of those you have building approval. No meetings. No individual review.

Don't block custom work but give people an easy path as well.
Aside from single-stair, what other changes to the CA building code would you make to reduce costs of housing construction?

Like when DSA laid off staff to close a budget hole and the union claimed it was a CBA violation? Seeing a socialist org take the position that unionized staff needs should take a back seat to management needs was eye opening. Supporting all unions except their own.
something I think is underdiscussed about employment/capitalism discourse is that abusive/bad labor/management practices are probably more common in nonprofits and trendy organizations that people on the left are likely to work for than big boring office companies

Part of being a YIMBY that’s 100% core to me is people may propose things I don’t like or even things that temporarily inconvenience me and that is okay because morally, the balance is that we need more homes more than we need to cater to my preferences

A new bilingual school is opening up in SF.

I decide to check it out.

Annual Tuition: $52,000. 😱

Starting to understand why parents are always broke.

This is why making fun of ICE works so well.

They're all like mini-Cartmans demanding respect and freaking out when they don't get what they think they are owed.
They're mad about not personally receiving the respect (deference) they think they are owed

Which they don't get, because they're assholes

What are these people so upset about? They won! They own all three branches of government. Just let us live our lives.

Finally saw Superman tonight. @jamesgunn.bsky.social did a fantastic job and nails the essence of Superman as a man of hope. Haven't seen that since the 1978 film with Christopher Reeve. As an #accessibility bonus the ASL version is included on the digital copy.

Congressional reps are going to need US Marshals for protection. If ICE is going to illegally assault a member of Congress someone needs to hold them accountable.
Representative Adelita Grijalva went to lunch and came across an ICE raid. Even after telling them she was a member of congress, the thugs pepper sprayed her.

Her question: if they treat a member of congress this way, how are they treating the defenseless people they kidnap?

Same. I've literally said the words "We want to follow the old vaccine schedule, not that RFK nonsense," to my daughter's primary care doctor.

We value science (and saving lives) over "vibes" in this house.
Since becoming a parent I have not, in fact, understood the parents who say “if you were a parent you’d understand” about vaccine hesitancy. Being in charge of this fragile little miracle has me saying things like “give her all the vaccines. Turn this baby into a pincushion” to doctors

The Variety story was inaccurate.

"a newly restored version of the classic Star Wars (1977) theatrical release — later renamed Star Wars: A New Hope — will play in theaters for a limited time."

In Chicago, a Nativity scene features a zip-tied baby Jesus and Roman centurions in "ICE" vests.

Near Boston, Mary, Joseph, and Jesus are absent from a Nativity scene, replaced with a sign reading "ICE was here."

It's all part of growing religious blowback to ICE. religionnews.com/2025/12/05/i...

I remember when Reed said he wanted Netflix to become HBO before HBO became Netflix. HBO was seen as Netflix’s biggest competitor just over a decade ago.
I can't be the only one looking at this Netflix - WB news and hoping this might mean someone could convince Netflix to fund a third season of HBO's Rome.

Wow. Those Blue Man Group shows are getting violent.
I was working on my TimAllensBigSupernaturals code to improve it to the point I can run entire movies/episodes through it, and this early test of decode->reencode functionality ran into a minor glitch.

We saw a district in Tennessee engineered to be R+22 swing to be ~R+13 this week. I'm betting a bunch of those new districts in Texas don't have that kind of margin to lose. When we empower Texans to vote, the GOP bites it, so let's take care of Texans, y'all.

Trump's 2020 election voter fraud pardon is so broad, it may cover a Republican who illegally cast an extra ballot for Trump.

DOJ says Trump didn't mean it like that, but plaintiff (correctly IMO) says the plain language of pardon controls and can't be delegated.

DOJ claims it has the power to decide who gets Trump’s sweeping 2020 pardon
The Justice Department is deciding who's covered by extremely vague pardons.
