Our medical system, and I suspect this is a problem in many places around the world not just Aotearoa, has a real fucking problem with giving genuine care. It's honestly and truly fucked. 🤬

Masking should be mandatory by all who work in healthcare systems. No exceptions. 😡
Professions who have not thrown a hissyfit when we have asked them to mask:

Electrician ✅
Plumber ✅
Plunket nurse ✅
Photographer x2 ✅
Hairdresser ✅

Those who have:

Infant vaccinator nurse ❌
GP ❌
OBGYN ❌
Knee specialist doctor ❌
Physio ❌

🤔

oh, so if this is because they needed to brute force executive power because they couldn't attack Maaori enough via local referenda then this is another human rights and constitutional issue. ACT completely giving the game away here. They're speedrunning unaccountable anti-democracy policy

I'd lost count of how many times I've witnessed Chlöe Swarbrick inviting Christopher Luxon to accompany her on the streets of her electorate to meet the people his Government has made homeless.
...so I checked Hansard (below).

„Quiet, Piggy!“ Just think about that for a minute, and what it means to live in a time when a President can assault a woman in public like that without any consequences.
It‘s quite a testimony to the age of regression we live in.

21st century Labour Parties seem determined to become the politics of mealy-mouthed middle-class mediocrity, the political champions of the dinner party setting the world to rights over a nice Pinot Noir demographic, protecting the family silver before taxing the obnoxiously wealthy.

To be clear, all MAHA has accomplished is putting cane sugar into Coke and removing red food dye.

They’ve also destroyed the CDC and public confidence in vaccines.

They claim to want “healthy living” yet we’re getting forever chemicals in our food.

It was never about health.
EPA just approved new ‘forever chemical’ pesticides for use on food
Critics warn the EPA’s approvals of new PFAS pesticides could expose more Americans to “forever chemicals” through their food.

I will be the first to admit I couldn’t understand why anyone would oppose Assisted Dying… and then I became disabled and had it “offered” to me.

It’s not compassionate when there’s coercion.

It’s not dignified when it’s offered in lieu of care.

Listen to disabled people.

Shane so many in the media jump on the bandwagon. #nzpol
Looks like a good time in the news cycle to tackle three big myths 🧵
❌ NZ pension costs are an unsustainable burden ❌
Seriously, no, for lots of reasons.
1. Our current Govt spending on pensions is low compared to most other advanced economies. And... [1/n]
