I really cannot put into words my appreciation and love for my whole community, which is uniformly united against these bullies. The unity is what gives everyone the resolve to carry on. They cannot stop or scare us all

The biggest divide in American politics continues to be people who are paying attention to what Drumpf says and take him seriously v. people who are convinced you’re lying and also insane if you try to tell them
the issue here is that the EU is currently looking to see if anyone in the US opposition is actually capable of, you know, assisting them against being economically coerced, you know?

The Greenland ‘crisis’ has gotten as far as it has because white American conservative Christians see the EU as race traitors and Russia as their Great White Hope. There’s no avoiding this reality
Not to mention that the U.S. is more or less explicitly turning against Europe because Europeans have embraced social democracy

I like that we can debate “is the DSA too class reductionist?” til we’re blue in the face and then CNN just comes out with “working class means white btw”

Kinda funny that Trump thinks "asylum" means other countries send people from insane asylums, and a) this is real life, not a ham-handed Idiocracy-type satire, b) he has surely been corrected several times but is incapable of updating his priors, & c) most media politely agree not to mention it.

In 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. visited New York City on his way home from accepting the Nobel Peace Prize in Norway. Speaking to a packed crowd at City Hall, Dr. King said,
"Those who have sat so long in darkness now find themselves lighting the way for others...”

it’s so funny when the media is like “why are libs cutting Trump voters out of their lives? clearly it’s the intolerant left!” when in reality we are just fed up by the dumbest most evil people we know speedrunning the destruction of our country in slavish devotion to the cult of a mad king

Now we begin the familiar ritual where 95% of the Republicans in Congress claim they are completely unaware of Trump’s deranged letter to the PM of Norway so they are unable to comment on it.

There's a reason why Fred Rogers used the word "neighbor." The older I get, the more powerful I realize "being a good neighbor" is... and I'm not talking about some damn State Farm.

A week after an agent with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) fatally shot a Minneapolis woman, half of American women are in favor of abolishing the law enforcement agency altogether, according to one new poll.

Yup. The actual "protests" are rare. They're happening, but they're not the main story. The main story is Will Stancil chasing down ICE agents in his Honda, people across the city doing grocery runs for neighbors no questions asked, people dropping everything they're doing to respond to whistles.
This is the thing. There ARE protests here but the bigger story (and what you see in most of the clips online) is that many people here are just going about their daily lives **but constantly vigilant and running in to help the second it's needed.**
Regular people are, at a moment’s notice, dropping everything to go watch armed masked goons. They blow whistles to notify other neighbors to come out of their homes and record what is happening and get the vulnerable inside. ICE hates it because they don’t want people to know what they are doing.

A brief history lesson, America had hundreds of revolts against slavery. Many occurred via poison and fire. I would not bet on the odds being in their favor if they violate the 3rd.
Locals on staycation are the bread and butter of northern hotels in the winter. So I guess the chains are choosing future profits over being boycotted
