The amNY reporter is very active in Middle Village NIMBY Facebook groups, and she’s very clearly trolling for one sided comments about IBX. All this type of coverage does it make these people look provincial and close-minded. Their version of NYC lost at the ballot box last Tuesday.

Perhaps more to the point ~no one had the ability to stop Musk from buying Twitter once he made that firm offer. It was just so insanely over market value. Our cheerleading or lack thereof definitely had no effect on Chancellor McCormick's decision.
Also, "Musk being able to weasel out from the sale agreement he signed would also have been bad for the rule of law though ultimately perhaps less culturally destructive"

Before ACA, many Americans couldn’t afford insurance

Alex Smith was a diabetic who got kicked off his Mom’s insurance at 26

He made 35k a year which was “too much” for Medicaid, but not nearly enough to cover insurance premiums

He had to ration his insulin & died a month after losing insurance
Insulin's High Cost Leads To Lethal Rationing
Alec Raeshawn Smith was 23 when diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and 26 when he died. He couldn't afford $1,300 per month for his insulin and other diabetes supplies, so he tried to stretch the doses.

Tax free money doesn’t help with catastrophic costs, like a trip to the ER or a cancer diagnosis.

And, like 401ks and home equity, large HSA/FSA will become a target for finance - people will be tempted and encouraged to tap into it and spend it on non-medical stuff.

I think the thing that depresses me the most is watching how many people here look at events and seem to have decided to max out on cynicism and apathy. Deciding they’re smarter than anyone else because they know nothing is going to change and everyone is a villain. Thanks, dipshits. Good work.
