He's gonna try it, even tho the 22nd Amendment could not be clearer that he can't.

If he's not dead, he's going to run in 2028. And Republicans will line up behind it.

And according to a recent report, 33 of them have been re-arrested and charged in the past year (aka the dumb-ass all stars).
From a piece earlier this year: Trump wiped away more than 600 years in sentenced prison time for Jan. 6 rioters.

This piece by Oona Hathaway on the increasing frequency of inter-state, cross-border war in the last decade is very good, but I have a bone to pick with one claim:

Our strategy hinges on immiserating Venezuela.

If there's anything we know from the Iraq sanctions experience, it's that regime elites find ways to insulate themselves and it's ordinary people who suffer.

5 years ago Donald Trump assaulted our democracy in a way unseen since Reconstruction.

He got away with it, and his sense of impunity is so great that he decided to snatch a foreign leader in the middle of the night.

Impunity is his MO because that’s how he’s been treated.

The impunity is, indeed, the point. Even moreso than cruelty, it is the animating urge of MAGA: the desire to be wantonly, flagrantly, theatrically impervious to accountability

This isn’t true at all.

January 6 was the beginning of the end of everything, not just because of what happened that day but largely because of everything that ~didn’t happen~ after. There is no “unity” without political accountability. January 6 succeeded because our systems failed and we are here.
"To move forward from here without confronting the long-deflating bubble of 'both-sides' journalism, which is profitable for the D.C. book party circuit but ill-suited to maintaining both good government and a public trust in the media, is to ensure that illiberalism will continue to flourish."
The Capitol Riot Killed “Both Sides” Journalism
Trump’s acquittal notwithstanding, these violent events have forever changed the way Beltway reporters should do their jobs.

It’s unspeakable to have an anti-vax regime in the United States.

But that it came about from, and in reaction to, the largest & safest drug rollout in human history (that saved many millions of lives) is pretty tough to swallow.

The first year of Trump’s second term has done significantly more damage to our position on the world stage than all four of his first put together.
It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason
