hey remember when a bunch of middle-aged drunk korean lawmakers climbed the locked gates to the national assembly to hold an emergency session after the president gave illegal orders to the military, all of which ended with said president being sentenced to prison

Paradoxically, a good sign:
♦️Obviously, Trump's team tried to gain Machado's cooperation. And obviously, it fell through: She'd been lobbying for an invasion, but presumably the price (give me your oil!) was too high.

So Trump failed in his quest to utterly discredit #Venezuela 's legit opposition.
Trump on María Corina Machado: "I think it'd be very tough for her to be the leader. She doesn't have the support or the respect within the country. She's a very nice woman but she doesn't have the respect."

On his first day in office, the Mayor of New York toured the crumbling apartment of one of his constituents.

On his 348th day in office, the President of the United States shops for marble and onyx for a ballroom nobody wants.

One reason I cant take Ezra Klein seriously is because he was in COLLEGE when Iraq happened and was still stupid enough to support it while I got beat up in middle school for vocally NOT supporting it.
History rhymes but it gets dumber everytime.
I was 14 when the US invaded Iraq. I can’t overstate how dumb 14 year olds are in general, but it still was clear that the stated reasons were fake and the whole thing would be a disaster. I was confused why so many people were ignoring the obvious.

Anyway, shoutout to the 14 year olds of today.

Oh, yeah… For those who maybe weren’t alive for previous military adventurism… This is a thing a whole lot of the press/pundits love. Lots of fawning over the “efficiency” and might of the military. You will ask yourself how many of the ppl talking about it are sexually aroused by it.
I turn on MSNOW and hear Gen. McCaffrey being too admiring of the operation as an operation: "unbelievable, audacious, complex, and successful military operation."

reminder that the "Baltimore Sun" sounds like a venerable institution, a paper of record, but was hollowed out by a succession of corporate raiders and then sold to a right wing crank from the Sinclair media empire:

I got my Kickstarter reward copies of Death to Pachuco no. 1, written by my awesome friend @henryjbarajas! One has a cover by David Lapham and Lee Loughridge. The other extra spicy cover (that I didn’t know I was getting) is by Chloe Brailsford.
I’m sure it’ll be great!

One of my favorite memories of 2025 was at Anyone Comics with @henrybarajas.bsky.social and @alexsegura.com nerding out over jazz.
So much so the comic book nerds around us were like "this is getting too dorky".
