As a fellow Brit, I have to agree with you, we taught most of the world the worst lessons of anti culturalism, religious hegemony, anti humanistic behaviour, slavery, mono theism, the list goes on and on!

Starmer has gone down this path defining Palestine Action (none violent criminal damage only) a terrorist group leading to the arrest of 1000s for sitting silently holding placards supporting them. Young activists imprisoned for more than a year, without trial, without bail on hunger strike & dying

We need a coalition not 'of the willing' but of left & right & centre who share basic moral principles on government. They will disagree on policy directions but must have the strength to argue their point and accept a resolution by vote and law they may not agree with
That said, the demise of Labour and the rise of the Greens gives a glimmer of hope to those of us who want to see the Democrat party burned to the ground.

We've become like the US by losing what made us different like an efficient & functioning VFM Welfare State. All of the inaccurate neoliberal arguments that started with Thatcher 'we can't afford it' & 'reducing taxes for the elite will trickle down wealth to us all' have destroyed the best we had
I’m convinced the “special relationship” ain’t about friendship. It’s about how our politics have become mirror images of each other. So depressing.

Followed the campaign from an ocean away (World Service and Guardian, for my sins). All I got was “14 years is enough” and “don’t worry we’re not as scary as we used to be”.
