Went to see 104 year old Granny. First, I had to check she could fit me in her social schedule. Secondly, have had three wines in the sun with 104 year old Granny and I reckon I’m worse for the wear than she is.

Been awake since the 20 year olds 4:55am alarm went off this morning 🤦🏻♀️ he’s loving the challenge this year - learning curve is a lot less steep and he’s pretty smug he hasn’t vomited, fainted or cried.

It’s literally been the most cooked fortnight and I am extraordinarily grateful for Labour Day. Just the emotional roller coaster of another kid finishing high school to get through 🤦🏻♀️😭

A week on, the nephew is doing great following his accident, all things considered. 4 days in ICU, now he just needs to be restful and not do any contact sports or ride a horse or a motorbike or a ski biscuit or any shenanigans for 3-6 months, good luck to my sister

My Y13 has refused to wear “number ones” at school on the grounds it goes against the purported egalitarian intention of having a uniform and also won’t wear academic pins because how can you say it’s important to be humble and then have a group of kids wearing pins saying how smart they are.

Today we have the funeral of my youngest uncle, the fourth of my mother’s siblings not to make it to retirement age. At the same time, my youngest nephew is in HDU at Waikato following a dirt bike accident so I’m not having a great time, broadly speaking.
