statistically speaking (and based off the articles) it is a near certainty that thousands of people currently patrolling the streets in Minnesota are people who did not immediately believe the warnings of the left 10 years ago. I see very little criticism of *them* on here
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

This was just me making this comparison yesterday, but today the Korean news is calling Minnesota "America's Gwangju" and have human rights lawyers explaining how America is now living through the dictatorship Korea once had.
The Chun regime that my wife fought against in the 80s did the exact same thing. They needed a "crisis" that "only they could solve" to hoard more ill-gotten power, so they chose one city (Gwangju), declared its inhabitants enemies, sent trucks full of soldiers to violently attack and kill them.

there was a very short time period when flatbed scanners had good resolution but digital cameras were not very good yet, where people smashed their dicks and boobs in the scanner to get a pic of them. like 2002 or so. i didn't do it but other people did, mostly old people. i hate this memory

since adams had tammany hall level corruption going on, the switch to "check out the enormous amount of resources that the city will now use to help you" is a good message!!!!!!
One of the hardest things to do is bring campaign-level communications to the work of governance, and snowstorms are notoriously one of the biggest litmus tests that less-engaged voters use to judge mayoral administrations. This is an excellent way to communicate.
