I am a little tired of being yelled at for this but apparently not tired about: heroin addiction is not RFK’s problem. He’s a sociopath. Most addicts aren’t. Honestly, walk into an NA meeting, grab the first person with a few years to be head of HHS and they’d probably do a better job than Bobby.

part of the AI "race" is US vs China, but there it's less about model sophistication and more about implementation. The idea that the US falls behind if we can't ram it down everyone's throats and hand these companies the keys to large parts of our government and civil society.

MS recently changed the UI of the Outlook desktop client. Mail content is now deliberately poorly-sized, and right above the content pane they've placed a button to request an AI summary. The dark patterns they're jumping through to get us to use AI is making me go insane.
