Reminder that the story of Chanukah is a story of a miracle for the resistance against a genocidal imperial regime. May a million such miracles bloom, whether by hashem or by the works of human hands.

A Lichtiger Chanukah. Chag sameach. Free Palestine. No one is free until we're all free.

Federal agents were assaulting women: striking them, shoving them to the ground, pepper spraying them.

Alex Pretti acted in solidarity with those women rather than in loyalty to other men who had strength of arms and state power. A betrayal to white supremacist patriarchy he was murdered for.

been thinking a lot about human migration over the course of history. and how this has impacted the evolutionary biology of humans as a species. of course, much of this happened before nation states. but you've got to wonder how borders & border enforcement affect evolutionary biology going forward

This is why there are NO good cops, why it's ACAB and not SCAB. The closest you get to a "good cop" is "tries to do their job and gets pushed out", or "blows the whistle and gets murdered by other cops".

This is the BEST case scenario you get with cops, and the rest are going along with it.

ACAB.
Breaking NYT:

The FBI agent who sought to investigate the federal immigration officer who fatally shot Renee Good has resigned from the bureau, according to two people familiar with the matter, after leadership pressured her to discontinue a civil rights inquiry into the officer.

"Calling violent people psychopaths isn't ableist, it's just that they're wearing a mask of sanity"

Fucking hell
... leading to dysfunctional dynamics, ethical failures, and harmful behaviors, often masked by superficial charm or "the mask of sanity," especially in leadership roles where individuals (or industries) exploit systems for personal gain, creating toxic environments.

The point of building a list of all active dissidents is to be able to then go door-to-door abducting or murdering them. Since the list is quite long and they could not accomplish the whole extermination in a day, the goal becomes to terrorize those who are not yet gotten into hiding.
ICE agent asked why he's taking pictures of a legal observer's car, replies: "Cuz we have a nice little database and now you're considered a domestic terrorist. So have fun with that."

When I was a kid I loved the ol' multipen because it was cool to be able to draw in color on road trips or w/e without needing to track a box of colored pencils or whatever.

It must be remarked, none of those drawings were much good because multipens, while a fun novelty, are just not that useful!
yeah, just out of interest, how many people choose the pen on the right for real work or art? See a lot of them in professional workplaces, do you?

The meritocracy strikes again.

And to admit this in an article?! You going to put this on your cv??? I documented in nature how I am unable to fulfill the basic ass tasks of my job without the help of the always wrong tell me what I want to hear machine.

Every time liberals refer to fascists' embrace of law (violent threats to enslave others) as "anarchy" (the total absence of such domination), they're not just lying to themselves about what law constitutes, but announcing that they will ruthlessly murder us and call it fighting fascism.
We’re going to go through the whole explanation of what anarchy is again, aren't we?

It’s not that I think a general strike wouldn’t work. I absolutely think a general strike would work. My problem is that you folks want to skip to the end but you get angry and defensive about discussing the road through.

There is no infrastructure in place to initiate, let alone sustain a strike.

Hey um terribly sorry but from the outside.... ya thats what america is. You are the unseen hand that manipulates other countries trade policies.

You are the group of men in the night who kill revolutionaries.

You are the unseen drone in the sky that makes children scared of good weather.
Those atrocities were un-American, too. Why do the evil-doers get to decide what the fundamental American values are? Let's define them ourselves.
I fear my tipping point into madness is "Thus is un-American" posts in response to ICE terrorizing immigrants. I beg you to open Wikipedia (I would say a book but let's start small) and read up on The Trail of Tears, Fugitive Slave Catchers, Japanese internment, Indian Boarding schools & Jim Crow

State security forces deploy chemical weapons in face of unarmed, restrained man.
Federal agents pinned a man to the ground in south Minneapolis and sprayed him with chemical irritants directly in the face.

Minnesota Star Tribune photographer Rich Tsong-Taatarii did not witness the man put his hands on agents.

The last sentence is the real reason for the slop boom:

“They’re firing people because of AI, and then three weeks later they hire a team in India because the labor is so much cheaper.”

It's so they can fire you and you won't blame your boss for outsourcing, but instead blame the LLM.
“One notable MIT study found that 95 percent of companies that integrated AI saw zero meaningful growth in revenue. For coding tasks, one of AI’s most widely hyped applications, another study showed that programmers who used AI coding tools actually became slower at their jobs.”
AI Completely Failing to Boost Productivity, Says Top Analyst
AI may or may not excel at a lot of things, but from an economic standpoint, it's definitely not making us more productive.
