my guess is liberal politics needs to keep cisness & heterosexuality as norms while carving out a minority place for transness. like the inaccuracy of "being gay is biological" what likely will be pushed is the inaccuracy of "trans/nb = on hrt or will go on it" [not endorsing this just predicting]
