Exactly this. "I'll vote for whichever candidate has a D next to their name no matter what their actual policy positions are!" sends a message to the politicians that they don't need to care about what you want at all. It's wild that people keep volunteering their unconditional support.
It's like sitting down in a negotiation and telling the person you're trying to get something out of that you're going to agree to the deal, regardless of what they put on the table. Even if that were true, it is obviously a bad idea to tell them that!

Just found out about a fanfic wherein John Brown is Isekai'd into a standard harem-anime fantasy setting, becomes outraged at all the slavery this entails, so launches a holy war on all these slavers in his newfound environment. My only concern is the story can't possibly be as good as the premise.

I think tech would be a lot better if instead of being "wow okay tech is doing this thing, here is how to integrate it into your life, workplace, home and sex life whether you like it or not", we had an approach of asking ourselves "what do we actually want from technology and how can we build it?"

i think nominating Gavin Newsom will lose the White House again for Democrats. The party's left flank will stay home again because he's an empty corporate shell. The age of Democrats punching left to appeal to the center is over and it's now a matter of if the party as a whole realizes that or not.

I knew who I was by 6,didnt have the words for it though so most of my childhood was,well...not great,not terrible...but the kids today,the kids who know exactly who they are and that help existed for kids like them until just a few years ago,my god..my heart is breaking for them right now.
