Probably one of the most toxic outcomes of debate bro "prove me wrong" culture was that it created a macho glamour around insisting the interlocutor carries the entire burden of asking the question "is what I believe and what I'm saying true?"
They like to turn people they demonise into villains and then rescuers in a drama triangle rather than just engage with the world through the framework of asking themselves "is this true?"
