Honestly I'm not even surprised that "the purpose of a protest is go get positive coverage in the news" is a position that people are actually putting forward in defense of Stancil. Of course clout brained liberals would think the goal is to cozy up to journalists. They can't imagine anything else.

i feel like the "rule of law" and legalism arguments fundamentally misunderstand that the state doesn't apply its own laws against itself in order to be held accountable. this was always the case and denying that is divorced from reality

do you think people sitting at work and commuting for hours on end every day for weeks, months, and years, makes them angry? like subconsciously. and it makes them more right wing over time. on top of all the media propaganda, historical illiteracy, and schooling, i feel this may play a role.

CNN reporting that a week before Alex Pretti was killed, 5 agents tackled him and he suffered a broken rib. CNN says he stopped his car after he saw ICE agents interacting with a family on foot and began to blow his whistle. Source tells CNN Pretti believed “That day he thought he was going to die”
