We've been working with @metoffice.gov.uk to analyse 10 years of #NewYearPlantHunt data.
The analysis provides the clearest evidence yet of how rising temperatures are impacting the British & Irish flora, with knock-on effects for all our wildlife.

Can you help a local historian locate and map examples of historic Gaelic inscriptions on Scottish gravestones?

I'm sure partaking in extreme sports must make a person feel uniquely alive and pumped full of adrenaline but what it also sometimes quite good is going on a long walk and stumbling across the remains of a medieval dovecote.

Wonderful to see that @rhodri.biz's #DuvetKnowItsChristmas has already raised over £25,000 for Centrepoint. Do check out the posts for a lot of giggles, and if you can donate, the smallest amount helps x
Unbelievably, #DuvetKnowItsChristmas generates such good will on social media that over the years we've raised somewhere approaching a quarter of a million quid for homeless charities. If you can spare a bob or two, sling some to Centrepoint, and here's the link: www.gofundme.com/f/duvet-know...

Another corker of a year for @rhodri.biz’s 15th annual #DuvetKnowItsChristmas fundraiser!
I’ve lucked out with comfy bed in attic room at my bro’s, shared with giant fans, stacked sombreros, ironing board & a baffling number of high-heeled shoes

If you can, donate to those without such luxuries ⤵️

This is the 15th year of #DuvetKnowItsChristmas, which is preposterous. Rules: if you find yourself dealing with unusual / claustrophobic / gaudy sleeping arrangements this Christmas Eve, share a picture with the world. Use the hashtag (with capitalisation) and cc me if you can be bothered.

If you don't already know about it, #duvetknowitschristmas is an annual ritual that brings great "What were they thinking??"joy and has also raised a lot of money for homeless charities.

1/ So, where were we? Oh yep, #duvetknowitschristmas. Firstly, some admin: Twitter/X has evidently been run into the ground by a preening, self-radicalised clot, so while there's a slim possibility that this annual celebration might be thriving over there, I won't know cos I won't be looking.

Sadness arrives uninvited. Joy demands more—it requires us to search, to kindle, to protect the flame against every wind. When we choose joy despite everything that argues against it, we don't just save ourselves—we illuminate the way for everyone around us.

Christmas has come early for me, thanks to my friend, the brilliant @zaraslattery.bsky.social. One of the v few self-printed copies of volume one of our graphic novel, SWEENEY'S PROGRESS. A labour of love for both of us.

One day a publisher may agree and publish it *prays to the comics gods*

It’s a sad indictment of Britain’s ignorance of nature that Sycamore Gap petitions - for a tree that mattered to humans but not nature - received tens of thousands of signatures but a petition to protect entire peatland habitats is stuck at 1,500 actnow.peatfreepartnership.org.uk/end-peat-sal...
Sign the petition to end peat sales!
No more delays: Let's get peat out of gardens once and for all. The time for uncertainty has ended.
