Seeing the sky was short lived, we are back to living in endless fog

Renewables is one of Labour's biggest strengths this term, in fact their biggest strength. You'll be pleased to know I am disappointed in the Green Party for not helping them accelerate in this limited time we have. ๐Ÿ˜„

Itโ€™s bonkers the Government isnโ€™t ticking off these low hanging fruit. Like properly banning fox hunting by stopping fake trail hunts, banning the use of peat compost etc. Theyโ€™re popular among a majority of the public and yet so farโ€ฆ nothing ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

Great to get down the Grow + Graze perennial edible garden with all the volunteers whoโ€™ve done a great job looking after it through winter. We planted five cultivated Hazel and some raspberry crowns from my allotment. Plus a lot of reducing couch grass! Canโ€™t wait to see it all grow in spring.

It would probably be popular

Iโ€™ve complained to BBC and Ofcom about his promotion of Reform in the past

Us too, heโ€™s stirring not reporting. Thereโ€™s something to report but not how he does it.

Itโ€™s so frustrating that heโ€™s paid so much but never intellectually explains or scrutinises policies or law

Does Chris Mason @ BBC News ever report on policies?

Female tawny owl on our roof by the sounds of it, I'll miss them this early in the summer when it's light later!

Definitely not, that's what I spend most of my garden time doing! :)

People need to get some perspective by reminding themselves what Boris Johnsonโ€™s crew got up to

Isnโ€™t the world fascinating?

I mean, wildlife is fun and often quite a bit cheeky.

As I look out at the setting glow beyond our garden I guess I also feel lucky for this moment. For the moss and the snowdrops, the thousands of voles uprooting our plants and the self sowing weeds that I love as much as the Akebia and Hydrangea.

I feel the same in wild places. Straddling the world of ecology and gardening I often feel this guilt about gardening for funโ€™s sake - especially as a writer trying to offer words of wisdom - but this year Iโ€™m going to lean into the garden again. We can help wildlife and have fun at the same time.

Often people describe the feeling I have right now on the dawn of spring as hope, but for me I donโ€™t think it is hope. I think itโ€™s joy or excitement, a little happiness and fun, being relaxed, the ultimate calm or simply this feeling of being fully me? Of connection to the big wide world.

Breaking news: itโ€™s dry and Iโ€™ve been out in the garden! I planted some trees. Iโ€™ve also just wandered around and I did a lot of standing and staring. And you know what, it feels good.
