BBC News has a broken impartiality framework that results in promotion of far-right parties and views, inflating their popularity. Reply to my complaint about "Why one small town with very little immigration turned to Reform UK" promoted to 20m people because immigration was "probably" a reason(!)

Practice I did in my lesson yesterday. I want to revisit this view when I’m a bit further along with certain techniques but I’m pleased with how it came out in the end. It’s part of a future series of paintings I’m saving up in the back of my mind.

Before / after. Years in our Yorkshire garden have flown by disturbingly fast, it all still feels new but of course it isn’t anymore.

Did you know that gardens make up 4.6% of UK land mass but 42% of that has been paved over?

My life 🙄 does anyone else find new ways to carry too many things? I wonder if the definition of a gardener should include carrying too much stuff. Had eggs in my other hand as well as my phone 😄

Who invented the term “leaf litter” as if leaves are a negative thing?

First attempt at a new study I’m doing. I’m happy with this but know I can do better, I’m very rusty at painting, amazing how quickly it drains from my head! There is a lot to think about with watercolour all at once. I’ll have a second attempt at some point. A lovely relaxing weekend.

Beautiful sky tonight - ran out to capture it. I’d been telling myself I can’t photograph every beautiful sky or I’ll fill my storage up. But recently I’ve changed my mind and decided I’ll let myself just photograph as many as I like 💞

Wildflowers often flower for as long or longer than cultivated plants - this is Malva moschata, musk mallow, still going at ours. Alongside many other wildflower species still flowering.

Blackening wax cap mushroom, Hygrocibe conica, otherwise known as witch’s hat. Excited to see one nearly totally black.

There are some limited edition signed prints for sale at the exhibition any proceeds of which I’ll use toward paint, paper and lessons to keep going.

They are semi-abstract watercolours of moments and emotions I’ve had walking these hills where we live between Wadsworth Moor and Walshaw Moor. I’ve a lot to learn but I’m pleased with how I’m gradually more familiar with what the brushes and colours will do.

A photo Chris took at my exhibition at Old Town Post Office above Hebden Bridge, just below the moors. I’m really proud of this set of paintings because it’s evidence to myself that I stuck with it. It’s not often in life things come along like that, it’s important to run with it when it does.

Lovely evening yesterday at our local Old Town Post Office - which has become a Yorkshire institution - celebrating the opening of my little landscape exhibition there. It’s open now with some of my watercolour landscapes and my photo led booklet Stolen Reality. Overlooking the moors inspiring both!
