My old tweets are porting over (sorry for the flood) but here’s a thread for a lockdown conference that I keep thinking about…
1/20 Hi! I’m Katy, a p/t PhD student with @SWWDTP @UniRdg_Arch. I’m taking this opportunity to reflect on my extended experience and the amazing people I’ve been working with, who have introduced me to different ways of thinking and doing archaeology. #HiddenLandscapes

It’s a great book by @corinnefowler.bsky.social and her co-authors do it was interesting to listen to this conversation www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/...

I’m holding the notion of ‘calling people in’ rather than calling them out ❤️
Ramblings - India in the Cotswolds with Corinne Fowler and Raj Pal - BBC Sounds
Clare and guests discuss how the British countryside is connected to colonial history.

And after all that noisy sparkly shenanigans, I can quietly remind myself just how brilliant Robert Hardy was.

Anyone got a way of keeping non-slip shower/bath mats from
getting manky, even with regular cleaning? Do I give up and not have one? I don’t want to waste the plastic in landfill by getting regular replacements.

Some nice #DailySarsen, thanks @johnnythin.bsky.social Interesting to see a few boulders dotted around the edge of the plot in which the monument stands, and the enclosed landscape beyond from which sarsen surface spreads had largely been cleared (although boulders are shallowly buried in places).
It’s William Stukeley’s birthday 🎂 His landscape views are often just as interesting as the drawings of monuments - here’s his Prospect of Kits Coty House in Oct 1722

Just brilliant. I need to collect all of @darrellwakelam.bsky.social ‘s archaeological creations (like the Sutton Hoo helmet from a paper plate (!)) for a Young Archaeologists’ Club session ❤️
I'm currently making the four god-heads from the Ancient Egyptian 'canopic jars' (the jars that contained the removed organs) Here's two of them, the falcon-headed Qebehsenuef, and the baboon-headed Hapi.
Recycled tubes and wooden spoons.

Just gonna pin this to the top of my account - with a reminder that pre-orders really help (bookshops order stock in if they see pre-orders are high). Coming out in May ‘26. Thank you! www.waterstones.com/book/noisy-v... #graphicnovels #books #rhondda #protest

Sticking with the maritime theme! This time a Minoan octopus vase inspired design. I'm hoping to display this one coming out of water, so I tweaked the angle.

I have photographed this one, but I might wait and do it again tomorrow, because this is a very *wet* pumpkin (unintentional storytelling).
