Saw some gig posters using Ai and that’s no good. Gig posters are a lot of artists first gig, they’re fucking with the ecosystem of students getting £20 so I’m making stickers because thermal label printers are our cheapest propaganda tool

Well, let’s see if I can coherently record the trip up north. It started with a two day @mysociety.org team meeting in Manchester. As delays were threatened, I set off early and consequently had an hour to kill at the @wellcomecollection.bsky.social.

And last of all we caught up with the brilliant @etheringtonbros.bsky.social - as far as we know the only other writer/artist sibling duo? They were SO encouraging and helpful to us right from the start, there’s nothing like @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social for seeing old friends 🤗

The @averyhill.bsky.social show at the Mercer Gallery is absolutely brilliant. I think this is the first exhibit I’ve seen in the UK that explains the craft of graphic novel making for the general public. Also stands as a great testament to the beautiful books they’ve put out over the years.

I’m going to piggyback on this post and disclose that I have face blindness - I am very likely to blank you, even if I’ve met you before/know all your work/think you’re great.
Two pointers for the #ThoughtBubble weekend in Harrogate:
(1) Don’t assume I will immediately remember who you are.
(2) Don’t be offended when I inevitably don’t!
Something along the lines of “Hi Andy, I’m [name] from [organisation/project/comic]” will work wonders for us both.
