Betteridge's law of headlines:

"Any headline that ends in a question mark can be answered by the word no."

As the bulk of the article actually suggests…

It’s time for a 4-day week. ⏰

Ideology not results.

“There’s no evidence to support this approach to achievement. As opposed to improving outputs, it’s more of a statement."

We need a standard #FourDayWeek

“Contact centre staff answered 7% more calls than previously.

In 2021-22, a little over 65% of complaints were resolved on time. In 2024-25, more than 85% were.

The proportion of major planning applications decided on time increased.”

That’ll be a yes, then.

Reclaim the Economy Week is our opportunity to advocate for a system where people and planet come first.

“The hidden truth of the world is that it is something we make, and could just as easily make different.”

We can make an economy that prioritises people.

We can make a 4-day week for all.

2026 marks the 100-year anniversary of the 5-day, 40-hour work week.

Common sense says: if your work schedule is 100 years old, it’s time for a redesign.

It’s time for the 4-day week.

I completely support a 4-day work week being the norm. It definitely would make people and society on the whole a happier place.

Interesting article on the benefits of various kinds of 4-day week in the manufacturing sector.

That answer?

Actually, they think school weeks should be even longer than they are now.

No extra funding, just longer hours for dwindling numbers of staff.

Yep, that’ll solve the teacher recruitment crisis.🙄
