...It's funny too, though! Did we mention that?

Mum's dying and dad's a hoarder, but wait! Would these jeans suit me? Tristram pushes the boundaries of comics-making, using paper ephemera and digital collage to explore the depths of our psyches in the modern age

There are now actual print copies of "Running Out" in my online shop. This is the comic that @andywpoliver.bsky.social of @brokenfrontier.bsky.social described as "a must-buy...clever and witty and poignant and dramatic all at the same time"! Get yours: ko-fi.com/s/653479ca49

One more highlight of @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social for me was meeting Posy Simmonds, who came and sat behind our table for a bit 😱😱😱

And then it was time to host the Revolution Will Be Sequentialised panel with @karriefransman.bsky.social Joe Sacco and @reburked.bsky.social. This was such good times! A topic I love to discuss, and people with unique and useful insights to share. We had a full audience and within it were…

Had so many great conversations with people - both friends and new connections- and then that night @karriefransman.bsky.social @zaraslattery.bsky.social @firstgraphicnovel.bsky.social @streakofpith.bsky.social + family and I repaired to the best restaurant with the biggest dosas!

Near our table @karriefransman.bsky.social was working her incredible Tale Spinner machine, an “un-AI-able” comic.

After my panel I hopped onto a train to Harrogate, which proved to be the Comics Train, full of comics people. That evening I visited the @averyhill.bsky.social exhibition at the Mercer Gallery, which I’ve already enthused about on here. Suffice to say it’s excellent and you should go.

I’m back! And should have mentioned that before my panel at Comics Forum I learned some zine history and enjoyed a workshop run remotely by Kelly Lindberg. #zines #comics #comicforum

As ever, it was lovely to see colleagues at the team meeting, even though in an attempt to pace myself (ultimately fruitless) I opted out of all social activities. But I did have the pleasure of seeing Julian Tate of @opendatamcr.bsky.social explaining how they make data accessible to everyone…

Well, let’s see if I can coherently record the trip up north. It started with a two day @mysociety.org team meeting in Manchester. As delays were threatened, I set off early and consequently had an hour to kill at the @wellcomecollection.bsky.social.

The @averyhill.bsky.social show at the Mercer Gallery is absolutely brilliant. I think this is the first exhibit I’ve seen in the UK that explains the craft of graphic novel making for the general public. Also stands as a great testament to the beautiful books they’ve put out over the years.

Wooopdewhee I am at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social today, behind the CCIC table, G3 in BubbleBoy. Also selling my comics (and giving away zines for free). Do come and chat.

I do hope this woman is being celebrated by friends and family today for this amazing facial expression.

#comicsforum (and indeed @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social tomorrow and Sunday) I have these zines to give out. Hit me up if you’d like one.

Looking forward to Musk tweeting “Today I am appreciating the beauty of nature” accompanied by a photo of some garage marigolds.

Also it is weird when the culture you consumed as a kid is given context. I looked at this and his pinball paintings, and realised they were part of the zeitgeist that influenced those Sesame Street animations of my childhood. youtu.be/HUL4T8WcFdA?...

If you would like to go and gawp slack-mouthed at the masterful deployment of several different shades of blue to represent shadows, may I recommend the Wayne Thiebaud show currently on at the Courtauld. Only 25 pictures but so many blues.

Saturday, of course, @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social opens! I'll be behind the CCIC table to answer questions and generally enthuse people about our work. I will also have a few of my comics for sale, plus a little free zine that I will definitely have finished printing out and folding by then... :)

Just gonna pin this to the top of my account - with a reminder that pre-orders really help (bookshops order stock in if they see pre-orders are high). Coming out in May ‘26. Thank you! www.waterstones.com/book/noisy-v... #graphicnovels #books #rhondda #protest
