Do you ever wonder if the sea desires human flesh? Rising sea levels could be a wanting to wash us from the surface and dissolve what good is left of us back into amniotic state.

Just a thought.

The canal is topped with thick ice which means when I rock the boat, the whole shelf lifts and dips. It’s not massive science but it is cool visual science. I move the ice sheet just by shifting my weight from once foot to the other & it makes awesome metallic crunchy sounds.

One of the perks of having small kids is you're socially allowed to be feral again, running around soft play, doing silly voices, climbing stuff, and everyone just thinks you're a "great parent". Dreading the day they grow up and I have to go back to pretending I'm normal.

My son’s consultant replies to my emails with emojis. It works, but makes me smile at the informality.

Near miss here when I realised that the supplement in my hand I was about to bite into was my cod liver oil capsule & I’d just thrown back my gummy.

Found a single sock I knitted for a beloved friend while my little son was waiting for a heart transplant. I was learning to knit & never made the matching sock, never gave my friend the gift & he died 2 winters ago, his own transplanted heart expired.
Strange what this christmas stocking held.

I don’t do new year resolutions, because these are the same every day and don’t need changing.
