It's Sunday, it's 8pm so it must be the 1st #WildFlowerHour of 2026!
It's also the final day of the 2026 #NewYearPlantHunt!
So, please share pix of any wild or naturalised plants you've spotted in bloom over the past week across Britain & Ireland.
Need some #WildFlowerID help?
Just ask us!
It’s a good job I did @bsbibotany.bsky.social #NewYearPlantHunt yesterday as this morning everything was covered in snow! Only 13 species seen in bloom but enough for #thewinter10! A single Cherry Plum flower looking lovely for #wildflowerhour & new to me, Hawthorn flowering alongside its berries! 😮

My own frosty #NewYearPlantHunt! Great to get out this morning and look for plant treasures in aid of @bsbibotany.bsky.social and evidence-based conservation.

Brilliantly easy with the app, adding photos to let someone else suffer my lack of chickweed skills 😅 best find, a white Red Valerian 🤩

A pleasant time spent with botanists on a New Year Plant Hunt around Norwich today. Plants are nice in their own right, but are of course mostly known for their properties as hemipteran food. We saw aphids on Crepis (TBC), Clematis (Myzus varians) and Parietaria (Aphis parietariae).
