My old college classmate, a part-time TikTok influencer, just openly wondered on Instagram whether something's wrong with her TikTok algorithm.

TikTok's sale to the Ellisons has been finalized. The best time to delete the app from your phones was yesterday; the second-best time to do it is now.
This morning, I recorded a video on TikTok about why DHS’s arguments for the power to enter homes without judicial warrants in immigration cases are bunk.

Nine hours later, TikTok still says my video is “under review,” and can’t be shared.

Well, here’s a link:

Senate Democrats will not provide the votes to proceed to the appropriations bill if the DHS funding bill is included.

You- literally you- can whip the votes to kill the funding bill for ICE today. You are one of 47 people with the power to actually make this statement a reality! Do your job!
ICE out of Minnesota NOW.

they didn’t leak it to make the shooter look innocent, but to make the victim look guilty. not guilty of a crime. guilty of having a visibly queer wife. guilty of liberalism. guilty of opposing the regime. they don’t seek to exonerate themselves, only to demonstrate who deserves to die.
In the video that the shooter took, which I believe was leaked to be exculpatory, he appears to yell “fucking bitch” after he shoots Renee Good.

Hard, hard disagree. You do not need a constitutional amendment to abolish ICE or disestablish DHS. We can do this - but not this year. A new American coalition can do it, but it'll be long after this bunch of soulless opportunists are flushed from government.
Of course, none of this is going to happen. Abolishing ICE is about as likely as fixing the electoral college.

if 5% of the list works for you, you'll have a decent library of tools to pull from

be well, be strong
we will win
oh! this is a nifty handout for DBT skills for distress tolerance. some awesome stuff listed here if you are anywhere between uncomfortable dread all the way to WHAT IS HAPPENING RIGHT NOW?!!?!

I just... If there's no accountability for ICE agents murdering people in the streets, eventually someone is going to come up with something else.

Prosecute this agent or it won't just tell other agents that they can do this. It'll tell people they don't have options beyond fighting back.

I hate to break it to you, but heavily-armed government militias are roaming unchecked through US cities and shooting human rights observers dead in the streets. That's happening in our country.

I need people to wrap their minds around the fact that here in Minneapolis, ICE broke the window of a vehicle yesterday, pepper sprayed the occupants, and arrested them, and shot another observer in the face today, and OBSERVERS ARE STILL GOING OUT TO PROTECT THEIR NEIGHBORS AT MASSIVE PERSONAL RISK
I’m eating lunch, I’m having a panic attack, I’m charging my phone, and then I’m going back out to try and keep my neighborhood safe.

Don't forget folks: allowing yourself a vision of the future you'd want for our country and planet - not the one you'd settle for, not the one you fear, but the future of your dreams - isn't naive, it's a vital cognitive skill. That's how we articulate what we most value. What's worth fighting for.
Instead of whatever this is, we should have a government getting lots of new homes and apartments built, lots of clean energy built, lots of high speed rail and transit and bike lanes built, human rights for everyone, economic & healthcare opportunities for all, & innovation that leads the world.

The cynics think today's attack on Venezuela is staged and transactional. Maduro is allied with Putin, but in 2019 Putin offered Trump a swap: Russia cedes Venezuela and gets Ukraine. (See Fiona Hill's testimony in Trump's first impeachment trial, h/t @davetroy.com). Even Maduro may be in on it. 2/
