This is absolutely something to watch and has the potential to be a critical turning point. Regardless of what you think of US law enforcement, they are acutely aware of when their legitimacy is being threatened, and ICE has done more damage to them in the past year than anything I've ever seen.
checking in as a far left cop-hater to say yes local pd has been cool with the foot patrol & watches i've done, proactively cool, nicer than any cop has ever been. my read is that ICE is making their jobs harder & more stressful & they hate that/they see this resistance as "normal" vs loony leftists

My old college classmate, a part-time TikTok influencer, just openly wondered on Instagram whether something's wrong with her TikTok algorithm.

TikTok's sale to the Ellisons has been finalized. The best time to delete the app from your phones was yesterday; the second-best time to do it is now.
This morning, I recorded a video on TikTok about why DHS’s arguments for the power to enter homes without judicial warrants in immigration cases are bunk.

Nine hours later, TikTok still says my video is “under review,” and can’t be shared.

Well, here’s a link:

Dass die Trump-Regierung so offensiv weiter lügt, obschon die Videos vom Tod Alex Prittis das Gegenteil zeigen, wird selbst zur dezisionistischen Geste: Gerade weil die Lüge für jeden so offensichtlich ist, beharrt man auf ihr - um zu zeigen, dass man es kann.

Immigration is a fake problem. We have politicians on the one hand who want to use immigrants as scapegoats for our real ones and politicians on the other who are too cowardly to stand against them and tell the truth. That is the entire situation. Until that changes, people will continue to die.

Western countries are hitting refugees twice: they are making it harder to claim asylum *and* they are cutting aid to troubled regions.

I went to Sudan, the world's worst humanitarian situation, where the UN refugee agency has had to cut half its staff. Please have a read: as.ft.com/r/df593f1e-e...

If you’re not from here, I need to explain this execution was on Eat Street, a commercial corridor of restaurants and coffee shops that literally everyone goes to. Normies, queermos, weirdos, neighborhood folks. Whatever that place is in your city, imagine ICE executing someone in cold blood there.

I spent the last year writing a book about the ridiculous demands of what it means to be masculine. But a guy who takes care of people who served our country, asks a woman “are you ok?” When she is in distress and looks out for his vulnerable neighbors seems like a pretty good role model for a man.

I was having a low grade panic attack most of the day, but I countered it by walking some stuff over to the community fridge.

If you’re also feeling helpless, I recommend doing something similar on a local level. It’s not gonna fix the world, but helping your neighbors is a great lil start.

ICE and CBP are beyond reform and must be abolished. Their crimes must be prosecuted.

DHS must be broken up and its remaining agencies sent back to the departments from which they came.

ICE and CBP must leave our cities and towns. They must leave Minnesotans alone. They must get out.

Alex Pretti, the man killed by federal agents today in Minneapolis, appears to have been a registered nurse, an athlete, a son and a brother, with ties to Colorado and Wisconsin.

Here is a photo he used for several accounts.

The CBP agent pushes a woman onto the ground and peppers sprays her, the man is trying to protect her from them and help her up, which they respond to by pepper spraying him, tackling him, and then shooting him from behind. It’s one of the most upsetting things I’ve ever seen happen in America

The amount of money that is currently going to fund immigration enforcement in the US is larger than the military budgets of every country in the world other than the US and China. We are witnessing a military assault on American cities by a wildly unpopular governing party.

We have been told for nearly 30 years that America needed to tolerate mass shootings because the broad availability of guns would help us defend ourselves from an overreaching federal government. That day has come. The people who said this are supporting the federal agents. Many have joined them.
