Klobuchar persists in believing--against all the evidence--that Donald Trump and his minions are susceptible to moral suasion or shame. Asking them to take a different path is Klobuchar's way of allowing herself to continue to do nothing. Schumer and Jeffries are not really any different.

Indeed. Any Albertans flirting w separatism to send a message to Ottawa should consider that in the spring of 2014, some eastern Ukrainians wanted to send a message to the new govt in Kyiv. It didn't end well. Instead of getting concessions from Kyiv, they ended up occupied by Russia.
