Judge Cobb's strong signal:

"The President wields a powerful tool under Title 10 and the Insurrection Act. ... That expansive Title 10 authority, however, is limited by equally strong restraints."

(President Trump has wrongly claimed "no more court cases" if he were to invoke the Act.)

So the president and vice president would not have enjoyed it. It would have confused and confounded them; not only would they not have understood it, it likely would have offended them. (2/3)

Good point. The clearly extrajudicial killings indicate that the men and women of SOUTHCOM and likely SOCOM apparently need some remedial training on the necessity of refusing illegal orders.

The jury is still out on the rest of the US military, but so far, the USM is getting a failing grade. /1
To everyone saying that people in our military already know not to follow unlawful orders, how do you explain almost 100 civilians murdered on fishing boats in the Caribbean so far?

Zohran Mamdani doesn’t make me, an American Jew, feel unsafe.

Having the Coast Guard, which falls under the Department of Homeland Security, decide that a swastika isn’t really a symbol of hate? That makes me, an American Jew, feel pretty damn unsafe.
