The reason you go scorched-earth on this is the same reason we should have gone scorched-earth on impoundment; you can't stop it from happening, but you absolutely need to stop it from becoming a normal part of politics. You have to draw a line.

What I would really like to be hearing from the Canadian government is how we begin to disentangle ourselves, in all areas, not just trade but everything. I know it's daunting but the "we'll wait it out and hope for the best" approach seems foolhardy to me.
