The Gardaí were totally unwilling to intervene with the Citywest rioters because they weren't Mother's against genocide having a peaceful candle lit vigil or peaceful Debenhams picketers so they just ignored them like so many unanswered domestic abuse calls.

Much as I despise him and pretty much everything he stands for, Yates has actually done the country a great service - this is how they talk when they think you're not looking, and it's vital that the Irish people know this.
Whatever happens on count day, I think we can all agree that Mr Yates should be tarred and feathered on the Late Late Show.

I need this presidential election to be over. The media discourse around Catherine Connolly is hysterical and embarrassing at this stage. You don’t have to agree with her on everything but like the more the media has gone after her, the more sympathetic she’s become.
